I love anything sparkly so holiday crafts are especially fun for me. This is more than some festive chunky jewelry for your kids to make you or themselves, it’s filled with opportunities to work on fine motor skills and hand eye coordination .
What you will need:
- Some cheap garland, you want cheap so it’s not too full. If it’s really full it’s hard to lace the beads on.
- A wrapping paper tube (or paper towel roll)
- markers
- scissors
Start by cutting the tube into small ring “beads”.

Color them, make designs. Polka-dots were a big hit at our house. For really young kids, have them color the roll before you cut. Holding the roll still while they color will still be a challenge. Hold it for them if need be.

Thread the beads on.

You can bead them normally or loop them on so they stay put.

Tie and you are done!
