Blogging in Flight to BlogHer 2009

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

I am en route to Chicago to attend BlogHer 2009. I am on an American Airlines Flight and writing this blog because I am connected to the internet.

I am connected via a company called Gogo Inflight Internet, wi-fi with wings. I am connected on my own computer much like free WiFi you can access at an airport.

In flight internet is great.

I love being connected, talking, working, tweeting, and getting things done. I am so glad that in flight internet is finally here. I am able to write emails, surf the internet, be on twitter, etc. I was very fortunate as the person sitting to my left had a free coupon for the service so I didn’t have to pay the $12.95 for the flight. The person to my right used to work for Gogo. He knows all about it and just in case there were technical difficulties, he could have helped. There are none. It is very seamless, painless, easy, and divine. I am a captive audience. I am happy connected. The connection is quite fast and did I mention I am connected on an airplane?

Another part of me is a little sad as I always earmark airplane time for reading a book or just disconnecting for a while. A little shutdown time, if you will.

With in flight internet, flights will never be the same again.
